Sheriff’s detectives arrested a 29-year-old Spokane man Wednesday after finding nearly five grams of heroin and several loaded syringes inside his apartment. Detectives previously made several undercover purchases of heroin from Joseph R. Apperson and then obtained a search warrant for his residence, 2106 W. First, Apt. 102. It so happens that Apperson is the son of Spokane County Superior Court Judge Debra Hayes.
Investigators from the sheriff’s Investigative Support Unit executed the warrant Wednesday morning and found heroin and related paraphernalia. They arrested Apperson and booked him into the Spokane County Jail on a felony count of Possession of Controlled Substance. Additional drug charges may be pending.
At the apartment at the time of the raid was Ashley M. Hedquist, 20, 11616 E. Sunview Circle. She was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant charging her with Third Degree Driving while License Suspended.
