DUMB CRIMINAL FILE | Man Arrested Breaking into Vehicle in Jail Parking Lot

Around 4 a.m. Saturday morning a Corrections Deputy who just finished his jail shift was walking to his car when he observed someone getting out of a county owned vehicle parked in east parking lot of the Spokane County Jail.  The deputy didn’t recognize this person as a Spokane County employee and attempted to contact the individual.

The male suspect ran east bound towards Monroe Street. The deputy followed the suspect in his vehicle, eventually catching up to him in the YMCA parking lot on the east side of Monroe Street near the Public Safety Building.  The deputy called 911, told the male he was a Sheriff's Office employee, and stayed with him until the Spokane Police Department arrived on scene.
