Re-Zone Proposal Public Hearing Tonight at 6 p.m.

Tonight at 6 p.m. the City of Spokane Valley Council will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed development of a low income housing project by Catholic Charities.  The purpose for the proposed zone change is to accommodate an up to 40 unit single story senior housing project. The proposed project is near St. John Vianney Parish on Walnut Road between Broadway and Sprague.
Earlier in the year the City of Spokane Valley planning commission voted 4-3 to deny the zone amendment based on neighborhood testimony and council fears that such a complex would increase traffic, crime and become an eyesore in a generally single family quiet community.
Whether you favor (I can’t see why one would favor it) or disapprove of this project, then let your voice be heard tonight 6 p.m. at 11707 East Sprague Ave.
